We’ve been working with a technology client recently, having lots of fun getting to grips with some of the coolest tech stuff out there.  Combining this with my love of shoes, these Nike trainers – like those sported by Marty McFly in Back to the Future – are definitely worthy of a mention.

In a nutshell, they’re a kind of a cross between a sophisticated elasticated trainer and an ankle cinching system not unlike a kids ski boot.  Based on a sensor reading the pressure of your foot and a motor applying tension to and tightening the laces, they’re easy to put on and pretty much self-adjusting to a foot shape.  1,500 prototypes have already been auctioned off by Nike to raise money for the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinsons Research, and full production is expected for 2015, paying tribute to the year in which BTTF was partly set.
